Oppn uproar over lathicharge on students

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Some unruly scenes were witnessed in the Kerala Assembly over the lathicharge towards SFI students who picketed the road in the capital city yesterday. The opposition protested by displaying placards when the question hour began. The opposition calmed down when speaker allowed considering it as submission.


V Sivankutty of the CPM presented the issue as submission. He alleged that the students were assaulted as directed from the office of the chief and home ministers. The students were brutally attacked, he said.


The opposition rose from their seats displaying dailies containing pictures of yesterday’s attack towards students. Meantime, the speaker said this important issue should be presented as an adjournment motion. In between the melee, the speaker said issues cannot be discussed in detail in the submission.
