Mild tremor jolts Pathanapuram, no damage reported

Saturday, June 09, 2012: A mild tremor measuring 1.4 on richter scale was felt on Saturday morning in Pathanapuram but there are no reports of damage.
The mild tremor which lasted five seconds at 2.15 am triggered panic among the residents in the Karavur, Keezhayam, Perinthoyil, Channakkaman and Sanyasikon areas.
The residents ran out of their homes. For many, it was a first-time experience and they were clueless as to what was happening until told by their neighbours.
