Eight in custody for murder of friend in Nagercoil


PATHANAMTHITTA: Eight Keralite students have been taken into custody in connection with the murder of an engineering student identified as Arjun Raj (22) of Adoor, in Nagercoil. It has been suspected that a fight in an inebriated condition and stabbing him using a screw driver may have caused the death. Seven persons were taken into custody last evening and one in night.


Arjun Raj was staying with his friends in a rented house near Aaruvamozhi. Arjun was a fourth year electronics student of Indian Engineering College in Nagercoil. His body was found lying near a railway track about 600 metres away from the college yesterday morning at 7 am. Some injuries were seen on his face and neck.


He was in the rented house till 3 am on Wednesday and left the house after a fight with his friends. A complaint was lodged by his friends saying that he was missing. His relatives have reached the place and his body would be brought to his native place after post mortem.
