VS lashes out at CM over university land scam
Tuesday, April 24, 2012 : Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan on Tuesday asked Chief Minister Ommen Chandy to clarify the State Government’s stand on the Calicut University land scam.
The government needs to clarify whether it is part of the government policy or not. Vice Chancellor says that the doling out of the university land is part of the UGC policy, he said.
The university has granted 40 acres of land to the relatives of Minister of Social Welfare M K Muneer and Minister of Industries and Information Technology P K Kunhalikutty. Further, the syndicate is on the stand to dole out more land. The Chief Minister did not reply on it yet, he alleged.
