V S’ loyalists of Punnapra leave CPM

Wednesday, April 11, 2012: Around 24 CPM members at Punnapra left the party today in protest of the denial of politburo membership to V S Achuthanandan.
The resigned members include Balakrishnan, a local committee member, along with 12 CITU members. It is reported that they may join CPI.
Punnapra south Grama Panchayat member Unnikrishnan had left the party to join CPI in the last week.
