UDF decision suicidal, says Vellappally

ALAPPUZHA: SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan said that the decision to allot the fifth ministerial berth to the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) was ‘suicidal' for the United Democratic Front government. Talking to reporters, Natesan said the people could not be fooled and they would give a befitting reply in the ensuing Neyyattinkara bypolls. “What we have now is not democracy but `dominance of religion'. If there is no communal balance, there would be communal conflicts. The UDF has lost its relevance. The Congress has capitulated before the IUML,” he said. Natesan said it was not proper to blame Chief Minister Oommen Chandy alone. The entire UDF was responsible for it, he said.
