Senior CPM leader N Varadarajan passes away


Tuesday, April 10, 2012: Senior CPI(M) leader N Varadarajan passed away here this morning due to illness. He was 84.
According to sources, Varadarajan was in Kozhikode to attend a conference of the party, when he developed health complications.
He was immediately rushed back to the city, where he was admitted to a private hospital. However, his end came this morning, as doctors declared that Varadarajan breathed his last without responding to treatment.
A veteran Communist leader, Varadarajan was the State secretary of the CPI(M) from 2002 to 2010. He was elected to the Tamilnadu Assembly twice (1977 and 1980).
Leaders cutting across party lines have condoled the death of Varadarajan, stating that his demise was a great loss to the country.
