Saseendran’s death: CBI to grill accused


Wednesday, April 11, 2012: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team investigating the case relating to the mysterious death of Malabar Cements former company secretary V Saseendran and his two kids will soon interrogate the accused in the case.
The probe team has served notices on the accused asking them to appear before the CBI Thiruvananthapuram unit. MCL Managing Director M. Sundaramurthym the first accused has been directed to appear on Monday while the second accused P. Suryanaraynanan has been asked to appear on Friday.
The former company secretary was the main witness in three corruption cases in which charge sheets were filed by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau a few months back.
It was following a High Court order on a petition filed by Sasheendran’s wife last month that the CBI had started the investigation into the unnatural death of Sasheendran and his two sons at their Kanjikode residence on January 24.
The CBI recently filed two First Information Reports in the court against MCL Managing Director M. Sundaramurthy, Executive Secretary P. Suryanaraynanan and contractor V.M. Radhakrishnan.
It is learnt that the family members had requested the CBI team to investigate the corruption going on in the company for the last 15 years which the former secretary had opposed and which allegedly led to his death. They said that Sasheendran is a victim of the mafia gang that run the public sector company.
