Rain occurred at few places in Kerala


Monday, April 16, 2012: Rain occurred at a few places in Kerala and at isolated places in Lakshadweep.
Heavy rainfall reports in cm are – Kanjirappally (Kottayam district) 8 & Chengannur (Alappuzha district) 7. The other chief amounts of rainfall reports in cm are – Mavelikkara (Alappuzha district) 6, Karipur AP (Malappuram district) & Aryankavu (Kollam district) 3 each, Kottayam, Punalur (Kollam district), Haripad (Alappuzha district), Konni & Thiruvalla (both in Pathanamthitta district), Munnar (Idukki district), Neyyattinkara & Varkala (both in Thiruvananthapuram district) 2 each and
Thiruvananthapuram city, Cherthala & Mancompu (both in Alappuzha district), Kumarakom (Kottayam district), Peermade (Idukki district) & Nedumangad (Thiruvananthapuram district) 1 each.
Maximum temperature was appreciably above normal in Kozhikode district, above normal in Kannur district and changed little in the remaining districts. Kannur, Kozhikode & Vellanikkara recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36 degree Celsius.
Partly cloudy sky with a spell of shower/thundershower. No significant change is expected in maximum temperature which will be around 34 degree Celsius.
