Pro-VS posters appear in Neeleswaram

Tuesday, April 10, 2012: Several flex boards and posters have appeared in Neeleswaram in support of CPM stalwart and Opposition leader V.S. Achuthanandan in protest against the decision of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Central Committee not to include Achuthanandan in party Politburo list.
The new Politburo was announced by Karat at a press meet on the conclusion of the six-day meet. Achuthanandan was booted out of the politburo in 2009 for constantly feuding with the Kerala’s powerful state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan.
Achuthanandan, however, remains a member of the central committee, which has the power to veto politburo decisions. New faces in the Politburo include CITU national president A K Padmanabhan, West Bengal opposition leader Suryakanta Mishra and former Kerala education minister M A Baby.
The 20th party Congress also adopted the organisational and ideological resolutions, besides extensively deliberating on the national and international political situation.
