Passenger plane with 127 on board crashes in Pakistan


NEW DELHI: A Pakistani passenger airplane going from Karachi to Islamabad is being reported to have crashed near Rawalpindi on Friday. The passenger plane had 127 people on board.


As per initial reports, all the passengers are feared to have been dead and the plane seems to have been completely destroyed. There were 118 passengers and 9 crew members on board.

The ill-fated flight is said to have met its fate near Chaklala air base. The flight was to land in Islamabad.


Bad weather is said to have been the cause of the crash. The last contact with the pilot was at around 6 pm. The flight had originated from Karachi.


According to eyewitnesses the plane came down like a ball of fire. This as per experts means that the plane had caught fire when it was in flight.
