Nurses’ strike at MIMS hospital continues

Friday, April 7, 2012: The nurses of MIMS hospital of Kozhikode continued their strike on the third consecutive day here on Friday to press for acceptance of their demands.
Representatives of the Indian Registered Nurses Association told reporters that the nurses would not permit admission of new patients to the hospital while they would take care not to cause any difficulty to the enrolled patients. Those who need care and those who are in critical condition will not be denied services.
Nurses have launched an indefinite strike on Wednesday demanding better wages and increase in allowance.
The hospital managements said that the hospital was giving salaries as prescribed by the government and the strike was unwarranted.
