Noted film producer Navodaya Appachan passes away


Monday, April 23, 2012: Noted Malayalam film producer Navodaya Appachan has passed away at a private hospital in Kochi on Monday.
He was 81. He had been suffering from age related ailments. He is the founder of Navodaya Studio. The first cinemascope film in Malayalam was directed by him, and the first 70mm Indian movie, Padayottam, was produced by him.
He was awarded JC Daniel Award for his contributions to Malayalam cinema.
