‘Nadars being bypassed in state politics’

BALARAMAPURAM: Adding fuel to the caste war in  state politics, Deputy Speaker N Sakthan Nadar said that “ his (Nadar) community had not received befitting positions in state politics according to its merit”.
He was inaugurating a meeting of a noted organisation of the Nadar community, Vaikunta Swami Dharma Pracharana Sabha, (VSDP) here. The meeting was attended by local MLA Jameela Prakasam, District Panchayat vice president and BJP leader M T Ramesh. The meeting at the Balaramapuram High School was preceded by a march which started from Aralammood and it was attended by nearly 5000 VSDP members from five panchayat segments Athiyannur, Balaramapuram, Pallichal, Vizhinjam, Vengannoor and a part of the Neyyatinkara municipality and the erstwhile Thirvallam panchayat.
VSDP chairman Vishnupuram Chandrasekharan cautioned the UDF again that it will face defeat in the Neyyatinkara bypoll.
“The UDF candidate, whoever it may be, will get defeated, if the demands of the Nadar community including the ministership to Deputy Speaker Sakthan Nadar, are not met before the Neyyatinkara bypoll”, he said.
