Jamaath hits out at Aryadan

KOTTAYAM: The Kerala Muslim Jamaath Council (KMJC) has lambasted Aryadan Muhammed over his statements regarding the Indian Union Muslim League’s claim for a fifth ministerial seat. Aryadan had stated that if Oommen Chandy succumbed to the League’s demands he will be the last Congress Chief Minister in the state.
KMJC, which sought the minister’s resignation, said that his statements were against communal harmony.
“The demand raised by Aryadan has already been put forwarded by the NSS, SNDP, V S Achuthanandan, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and some other Congress leaders.
It is the responsibility of the UDF to give deserving representation to its allies.
The NSS, SNDP or CPM has nothing to do here. People like Aryadan are the real threats to UDF,” said KMJC state general secretary A Pookkunj.
The KMJC also denounced the previous LDF government for not maintaining communal equations. They hoped that the IUML would be given the fifth ministerial berth.
