Jagathy likely to be shifted to CMC Vellore on Tuesday


Monday, April 8, 2012: The condition of veteran Malayalam film actor Jagathy Sreekumar, undergoing treatment at a private hospital here after serious injuries he sustained in an accident, was better and was likely to be shifted to Christian Medical College (CMC) hospital, Vellore on April 10.
Sreekumar (61) was scheduled to be shifted to CMC earlier, but was postponed as the actor developed fever and was put on ventilator support, Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), hospital, where the actor is undergoing treatment, sources told.
The ventilator support given to the actor has been removed completely, and the overall condition of the actor is better, they said. The decision to shift the actor to CMC Vellore was taken following the visit of a three-member team of doctors from Vellore, who had assessed Sreekumar’s health condition on March 29.
Sreekumar was seriously injured, when his car hit the road divider at nearby Tenhippalam in Malappuram district on March 10. Sreekumar, was operated upon for his abdomen injuries and three surgeries on his right hand forearm, right thigh and hip, subsequently.
