Freedom fighter K.P. Madhavan passes away


NEDUMANGAD: Eminent freedom fighter and former chairman of SC/ST Welfare Corporation, K.P. Madhavan passed away on Thursday. He was 95.


He served as KPCC Executive member, State Vice President of Bharatiya Adhakrita League, DCC Vice President, member of Kerala State Housing Board, member of Kerala State Karshaka Thozhilali Union Minimum wage committee. He also served as Naik in Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s INA.


He was arrested for waving black flag at Sir C.P. Ramaswami Aiyar at Nedumkanda SMV High School. He played a vital role in erecting the statue of Ayyankali at Vellayambalam. He also involved actively in the rehabilitation programmes of the people of Chenkalchoola
