Fifth minister issue will be solved amicably, says Chandy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The issue regarding the fifth ministerial berth for Muslim League will be solved amicably, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.


Talking to reporters after the weekly cabinet meeting, Chandy said the League officially demanded the ministerial berth in the last UDF meeting.  There are no problems in the UDF over R Selvaraj. The name of the candidate in Neyyatinkara will be announced as soon as the date for election is announced, he said.


Chandy said Anoop Jacob will be sworn in as minister. The opinion of NSS will also be considered.


Chandy did not utter a word when asked about an Audi car worth 80 lakhs for Governor. Chandy said, “I don’t have anything to say on it as it is in connection with the Raj Bhavan.”
