Earth quake: Tsunami warning issued across Kerala

Wednesday, April 11, 2012:Following the massive earth quake off Sumatra coast, the Metrological Department has issued a tsunami warning in Kerala including Kozhikode , Kottayam, Kochi, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha.
The tremor was felt in Kerala at 2.10 pm.
According to sources, people in large numbers from many coastal areas, including Kollam Beach and Eravipuram in Kollam district, were asked to move out, as a precaution.
Kerala Fisheries Minister S Sharma directed Collectors of all coastal districts to take immediate steps to face any eventuality.
