E-stamping in State within six months: Minister

Friday, April 20, 2012: Finance Minister KM Mani had said that the State government would introduce e-stamping, instead of non-judicial stamp papers, within six months in the State.
The Minister said this was being done with a view to weeding out fake stamp papers and making the registration process more transparent.
He said the e-stamping project had already been announced in the State budget for 2012-13 and this would bring down the revenue loss to the government and reduce the time taken for registration. A project for creating a State-wide computer network for sub-registrar offices was also under consideration, he said.
