Divider violating norms causes Jagathy's accident: Suresh Gopi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Raising voice against poor road conditions in Kerala, actor Suresh Gopi alleged that actor Jagathy Sreekumar met with an accident recently when his car hit a road divider, which was placed by the authorities without following the international norms. Speaking at a function here, actor Suresh Gopi said 'I had raised this issue with a Minister in Kerala. Recently, actor Jagathy Sreekumar, who paid Rs 1.25 lakh as road tax for his vehicle, met with an accident due to a deadly road divider, which was placed by the authorities without following the international norms.' 'Though people pay road tax, the Government fails to build better roads for the safety of its people. The Government should change its attitude towards this major issue. Every day, hundreds of people die in road accidents. The Government yet to come out with a stern action for the safety of its people,' he opined.
