Death toll in Thrissur road mishap rises to 6

Tuesday, April 03, 2012: The death toll in the road accident near Mannuthy here on Tuesday evening has increased to six with two more persons succumbing to their injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital here, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Thomaskutty, Shaju, Varkey, France, Alex and Lali, police told. One more, who was seriously injured in the accident has been admitted to the nearby hospital. The accident occurred when the over speeding car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry.
The car was completely destroyed in the impact. The injured were taken out by the fire force personnel and police after cutting open the vehicle using metal shears.
