Cong trying to delay Neyyattinkara poll, alleges CPM

Thursday, April 19, 2012: CPM leader and former Minister M. Vijayakumar Thursday said that the Congress party is trying to delay the Neyyattinkara by-election that was necessitated after R Selvaraj’s resignation.
Vijayakumar also said that the voters will see through the ploys of the Congress party. CPM in Kerala had announced F. Lawrence as the LDF candidate for the by-poll.
The bypoll, date for which is yet to be announced, was necessitated by the resignation of former CPM MLA R Selvaraj last month.
Selvaraj, who quit the party and the assembly membership following differences with party leadership, would face Lawrence as a ruling UDF candidate in the coming by-poll.
