CM, Chennithala to meet Sonia Gandhi today

Thursday, April 5, 2012: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala will meet Sonia Gandhi today for discussions over Muslim League’s demand for an additional berth.
The Congress is of the opinion as to somehow find a solution to the issue without much delay. IUML had been pressing for the fifth ministerial post ever since the UDF government assumed office last year.
A detailed discussion would be held with the Congress top brass regarding the Neyyattinkara by-election necessitated by the resignation of R Selvaraj. The party had not yet finalized on candidate contesting for Neyyattinkara.
