Edappal: A speeding bus hit a bike rider and the bike rider died on the spot on the Thrissur- Kuttipuram state highway. Padari Rajendran, who hails from Tamil Nadu but stays at Nariparampial, is the deceased. He was 52. After the accident, the enraged natives locked up the bus driver in the bus and blocked the entire super fast and limited stop buses came through the way. They also blocked the police when they attempted to shift the driver and the bus. The glass panes of the bus were destroyed. The accident occurred at 4.50 pm Thursday at Kandanakam Anakkara road junction.
Rajendran was on his way home after work. The bike was hit by Samrat super fast bus coming from Kozhikode to Ernakulam and dragged him for 15 meters.
Though he was rushed to Edappal hospital his life could not be saved. Later, natives blocked the road which affected traffic movement .
