A book fest you wouldn’t want to miss


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ‘Karuna Sindhu National Book Festival’ as part of the Santhigiri Fest is one destination for  book lovers of all ages where they can find best sellers or their favourites which they had been longing to posses for a while.
With forty publishing houses taking part in it, the fair has books in various languages - Hindi, English, Malayalam and Tamil. The 50,000 or so books displayed at the book fest is expected to be an educational treat for the bookworms as well.
Educational and historical books and CDs are also available at this book expo.
Apart from the exhibition there will be debates and quiz competitions along with interactive sessions on socio-political issues with known personalities.
The fair organised by Gurumahima, a women’s youth organisation was inaugurated by Shashi Tharoor MP, the other day. At the inaugural function he described books as a stress buster and a healing balm for troubled minds.   
 “Technological advancements such as Internet and computers have not stemmed the sale of books in India,”he added.
The book fete will be on till May 31.
