BK Sekhar remembered on first death anniversary


Friday, April 20, 2012: Senior BJP leader Advocate B K Sekhar (1960 – 20 April 2011) was remembered on his first death anniversary on Friday.
Sekhar, who entered politics as a student, was Thiruvananthapuram district president of the BJP and State convener of the party’s media cell and its spokesman in the State. He had served the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and the students’ wing of the party in various capacities.
He also worked as chairman of the Thiruvananthapuram Airport Development Authority, member of the Senate of Kerala University and Director Board member of Canara Bank.
The end came at 2.10 p.m. at the Amrita hospital on April 20, 2011 where he was undergoing treatment for cancer of gall bladder, hospital sources said. He leaves behind his wife Shyama and daughter Gouri Kalayani.
