Bhagavatha Satram under way in Thuravoor


ALAPPUZHA: Hundreds of devotees from different parts of the state have been gathering at the Mahavishnu Temple at Thuravoor near Cherthala, to attend the 29th Bhagavatha Satram. Scholars from various parts of the country have been giving discourses on Bhagavatham.
In his discourse, N Somasekharan, of Kottayam, interpreted Chathusloki in Bhagavatham on Wednesday.
V K Krishnan Namboothiri delivered a discourse on Varahavatharam, and Kandamangalam Narayanan Namboothiri presented the Hiranyaksha Vadham.
Kaloor Pavakulam Narayaneeya Samiti, Siva Subrahmaniya Narayaneeya Samiti, Vyttila, and Siva Temple Narayaneeya Samiti conducted Narayaneeyam recital.
K R Nambiar delivered a discourse on Kapilavatharam and Kapilopadesam, and P V Viswanathan delivered a discourse on Daksha Yagam and Druva Charitham.
A cultural meet was also held as part of the satram.
PSC chairman K S Radhakrishnan inaugurated the meet.
The satram will continue till April 13.
Elaborate arrangements have been made to provide food and other amenities to the devotees.
More than 50,000 were served food on Wednesday.
