Aryadan offers to resign

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Aryadan Muhammed, who stood away from the swearing in ceremony of the two ministers on Thursday, had offered to resign. He had expressed his opposition to League’s fifth minister in the cabinet.

He informed his decision to A K Antony on Wednesday night itself. The number of Muslims in the cabinet has now touched six. Aryadan offered to resign to retain the communal balance.

Aryadan had termed suicidal, the decision to allot the fifth ministerial berth to the League.  He skipped the swearing in ceremony to show his grudge. Even though he was in his official residence, he neither attended the swearing in ceremony nor attended the cabinet meet.
