Actor Jagathy shifted to Vellore Hospital


KOZHIKODE: Cine actor Jagathy Sreekumar, under treatment at a private hospital here for multiple injuries, was shifted to Christian Medical College, Vellore for expert treatment Thursday. Malabar Institute Medical Science (MIMS) sources said Jagathy, accompanied by his wife, among others, was taken in an ambulance from the hospital to Calicut International Airport this morning.


From the airport, he was moved to an Air ambulance to Karakkonam and from there again by road in an ambulance to Vellore. Besides his family, Dr Rakesh Nambiar, Dr Manjunath and three nurses from the MIMS accompanied him to Vellore, the source said.


Jagathy, along with his driver, was injured grievously when his SUV hit a road divider at Panambra in Malappuram District on March 10, 2012. He was proceeding to the location of shooting for 'Edvappathi,' a film by Lenin Rajendran, at Coorg in neighbouring Karnataka when the tragedy struck.
