Private bus strike begins in Palakkad
Wednesday, February 1, 2012: Private bus employees in Palakkad are striking work today from 6 am to 6 pm. The strike was called demanding payment of variable DA due to them.
The meeting which was held on Tuesday between the deputy labour commissioner A Radhakumari and the owners and employees of private buses proved inconclusive. However, the autorickshaw strike, proposed for Wednesday, has been cancelled based on Tuesday’s meeting, revealed the autorickshaw Coordination commitee leaders. CITU, ANTUC, BMS are taling part in the strike.
