FIR registered against VS


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The vigilance on Friday registered an FIR against opposition leader V S Achuthanandan and seven others in connection with the allotment of land to his relative in Kasargod during the previous government led by him. The FIR was registered in the vigilance court in Kozhikode.


V S is likely to be sentenced for one to seven years as per the charges imposed on him.


The charges imposed on him are nepotism, corruption, conspiracy, cheating and destruction of evidence, etc. Former revenue minister K P Rajendran has also been charged. Vigilance Kozhikode Range DySP V J Kunjan is in charge of the case.


The vigilance will take statements from the ministers present in the cabinet meet when the decision to grant land to the chief minister’s relative was taken.
