Finance department delays implementation of Backward Class Development Department

The Backward Class Development Department envisaged by Kerala government has not been implemented yet, thanks to the finance department. The finance department is understood to have been delaying its implementation.

The Chief Minister had recommended to the finance minister for allowing posts of additional secretary, undersecretary and confidential assistant, three posts each of assistant and peon. The finance minister handed the recommendation to the principal secretary of finance department. But the finance department did not grant permission to materialize the Backward Class Development Corporation. It has sent the ‘queried’ file to the tribal department now. The finance department’s queries are: ‘whether there is any such department in other states?’, ‘is there any parallel department at the centre?’ and so on.
