Congress seeks action against those behind removal of posters

KANNUR: The Congress leaders led by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Secretary Satheeshan Pacheni and former state ministers from the district K P Noorudheen, N Ramakrishnan and A D Musthafa today said that removal of the flex boards with photograph of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was a shock to the Congress workers in the state and action should be taken against the people behind the incident.

Addressing a press conference here today, K P Noorudheen and other top leaders said yesterday’s incident of removal of flex boards praising Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, which were put up by pro-congress organization and Public Relation Department (PRD) at the time of his mass contact programme had hurt the Congress workers and sympathizers. They demanded that KPCC seek explanation from K Sudhakaran, Member of Parliament from Kannur, on the incident and take action against the people behind the incident. They alleged that some conspiracy was suspected to tarnish the image of Chandy and create crisis for the UDF government, which was going on with a narrow lead in the assembly.
