Balakrishna Pillai’s phone call details submitted in Court

Thursday, January 5, 2012: The Police have submitted both the incoming as well as the out going call details of former Minister and Kerala Congress (B) leader R Balakrishna Pillai after he was involved in conversations with a private channel reporter over the mobile phone while undergoing prison term.
According to report, Pillai made as many as 1164 telephonic talks violating the jail rules, out of which 754 were incoming and 410 outgoing.
The Thiruvananthapuram CJM Court had earlier directed to submit both the incoming as well as the out going call details of Pillai.
The conversations were made on September 29 when R Krishnakumar, a teacher at a school under the management of Pillai, at Valakam near Kottarakkara, was attacked.
Pillai had spoken to the reporter on condition that he would not be quoted as he was not supposed to speak to the media over phone since he was undergoing imprisonment. The channel, however, aired the telephonic talk made from the hospital.
