PSC move unfortunate, says Youth Congress

Wednesday, December 28, 2011: Youth Congress state president, P.C. Vishnunath MLA has today charged the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) with playing “politics” by rejecting the government’s demand to extend the validity of rank lists up to April 30, 2012.
Speaking to the reporters here on Wednesday, he termed as unfortunate the PSC’s decision to turn down the government’s request. The present PSC members were all appointed during the previous LDF government’s tenure, Vishnunath said.
The Government had recommended to extend the validity of rank lists to April 30. But the meeting of the commission has decided not to extend the rank lists of which the term would end by December 31.
The Commission observed that the rank lists which enjoyed extension three times need not be extended further. The Commission also observed that the extension will affect the appointment procedures and appointment is being made from the existing lists.
