Azhikode withdraws defamation case against Mohanlal

Monday, 12 December 2011: Veteran Malayalam writer and renowned orator Sukumar Azhikode today withdrew the defamation case against actor Mohanlal. Advocate RamKumar appeared before the Court for Mohanlal and filed a compromise petition. Considering this case Thrissur Chief judicial Magistrate TS Antony ruled that case was cancelled.
Earlier reports:-
Azhikode has filed the case alleging that the superstar had defamed him through his words calling him insane, while interacting with media delegates, sometime ago.
Azhikode and Mohanlal had earlier entered into war of words, criticizing each other, in the wake of Thilakan- AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) issues. The Malayalam movie industry, which has served more controversy than profits in recent times, had then plunged to a new low with a squabble in which the choice of words were more appalling than some that are spoken on screen.
Sukumar Azhikode, had in his petition demanded an amount of Rupees Ten lakhs as fine, for defaming an elegant personality like him in the midst of a socially legible community.
