Thiruvananthapuram, Monday, August 1, 2011: The UDF high powered committee meeting held here has decided to re-examine the state government’s new liquor policy announced by Excise Minister K Babu.
The UDF coalition partners had expressed strong displeasure over the government’s decision to announce the new liquor policy without any discussions. Another round of talks will be held by the leadership on August 16.
Constituents, including the Muslim League, pointed out the lack of consultation before finalising the liquor policy. There were several lapses in the policy, feel UDF partners, as it was not discussed in the UDF.
