Stand causing pain to devotees will not be taken, says Chandy

NEW DELHI: The state government will inform the Supreme Court their opinion on the devaprasnam held at the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple if the latter asks for it. But the government will not take any stand causing pain to the devotees, Chandy told reporters after holding talks with union ministers.

Chandy said, “I don’t agree with the statement of opposition leader V S Achuthanandan against the head of the royal family. But every citizen has the right to move the court for their demands.”

Chandy said the appointment of Tarun Das as a member of the planning commission will not be changed.  I don’t agree with the fast staged by Anna Hazare, said the chief minister.
