Monday, August 22, 2011: Thrissur Vigilance Court has today deferred the hearing of the plea filed against IG Tomin J Thachankary’s reinstatement into service, till September 24th. Meanwhile the Vigilance director did not submit the report in connection with the reinstatement of Thachankary, who was placed under suspension for violating service rules by going abroad without consent from the government.
The plea was filed by PD Joseph, a public worker stating that the decision to reinstate Thachankary was unconstitutional. The government had decided to reinstate Thachankary since his suspension term had expired and the NIA had given a clean chit to him.
