Passing-out parade of Coast Guard officers held


KOCHI: The passing-out parade of the 52nd batch of General Duty Coast Guard officers was held at the Coast Guard Training Centre here on Friday.
The passing-out of 29 Assistant Commandants was reviewed by DIG R M Sharma, Commander, Coast Guard, Karnataka. During the course of training the officers were taught maritime law, boarding procedures, search and rescue and pollution response.

The chief guest presented DGCG Sword of Honour to Assistant Comdt Karwasa for standing first in the overall order of merit. Sharma said that developing team spirit, camaraderie, consistent performance, hard work and dedication to service should be the hallmarks of an officer. He also dwelled upon inculcating truthfulness, honesty and patriotism in the trainees. The chief guest complimented Commander District Headquarter 4, DIG T K S Chandran for the effective implementation of proper training machinery at the Coast Guard Training Centre.
