On Tuesday four lakh people expressed solidarity with Anna’s move

KOCHI: On a day when Anna Hazare was arrested by the Delhi police, his popularity in the online world went up. On Tuesday about four lakh people expressed solidarity with Anna’s move through the social networking site Facebook. “Anna we all Indians are with you in this fight. We will support you in all the ways. The fight which you have started showed us the way. It will help us achieve freedom from corruption. This will stop only when we achieve our goal,” commented Yogita Kerimani on Facebook.

A number of communities have been formed in social networking sites supporting Hazare. Thousands of Faceboook users visited the communities and commented on Tuesday’s developments surrounding his fast and the subsequent arrest. Social media Twitter was also abuzz with messages supporting the fast by Anna Hazare. Interestingly, the  number of Google searches for the term Anna also went up on Tuesday. “It is disgustful that the corrupt ones are roaming freely and a man fighting against corruption has been put behind bars. We all should stand against it. I am with Anna Hazare,” said a comment by Deepshikha Datta on Facebook.
