No head count in schools from next year

Wednesday, August 10, 2011: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday said that the government has decided to avoid the head count of students from next year onwards.
Briefing the mediapersons after the weekly cabinet meet, Chief Minister said that 4500 teachers, who lost jobs due to head counts will be reappointed. In future, there will be no group called protected teachers.
The government has prepared a scheme for renovating the education sector and for solving the problems of 15,503 teachers working without any pay in the public education sector.
A panel has been formed with Education Minister PK Abdu Rabb as the convenor and Ministers Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, PJ Joseph, KP Mohanan and K Babu as members to hold discussions with the management organizations.
