Kerala Govt gifts land to child artiste Asna Aslam

Wednesday, August 03, 2011: Kerala Government has decided to provide five cents of land to national award winning child artiste Asna Aslam for constructing a house. During a function here last week, Asna, who is visually challenged, received a cash award from Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
She had then told chandy that her family did not have a house of their own. The Chief Minister had asked Ernakulam District Collector P I Sheikh Pareed to identify suitable land to be allocated to Aslam’s family.

A house would also be built for her with the help of sponsors, a government press release said here. Seven-year-old Asna had won the National award for the best child artiste last year for her potrayal of a blind girl in ‘Kelkunnundo’, Geetu Mohandas’ debut short film in Malayalam.
