Monday, August 15, 2011: The nation’s 65th Independence day was celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm all over Kerala on Monday. The main function was held at the Thiruvananthapuram Central Stadium where State Chief Minister Oommen Chandy unfurled the national flag and took the salute at a march past by various forces.
The celebrations passed off peacefully as no untoward incident was reported from any part of the region, officials said here.
