Adimali: A car driven by a bank manger fell into the Ponmudi dam and the manager managed to escape unhurt. SBT Parathod branch manager Guruswami, who is from Tamil Nadu, fell into the 40-metre deep dam.
The incident occurred on Monday morning. When the car was climbing an uphill road the engine stopped. Gurusami alighted from the car and tried to place a stone beneath the wheels. But before he could do anything, the car began to roll back and Gursami jumped inside the car through the open doors. He tried to bring the car under control but in vain. The car fell into the dam and he managed to swim to the shore. Later fireforce team from Munnar and natives fished out the car after there hours effort.
