August 26, 2011: In another reported incident of serious security lapse at Nedumbassery Airport a 13-year-old boy was today taken into custody for trespassing into the Airport runway. The boy has been identified as Kiran, an eighth standard student, airport authorities told. On further interrogation the boy stated that he had entered the runway out of curiosity and for having a clear glance at the aircraft.
The incident has intrigued the officials in charge of airport security as the area is considered to be a high-security zone.
