June 09, 2011: The Kerala High Court today postponed the verdict on the bail pleas of accused in connection with the attack on scribe in Kollam. The main accused in the case relating to the attack on a journalist in Kollam, Container Santhosh on Friday filed a bail petition before the Kerala High Court.
Santhosh had surrendered before a Court in Thiruvalla in the case registered by the police in connection with the attack on VB Unnithan, Mathrubhumi reporter. The bail petition moved by Santhosh Nair, former Deputy Superintendent of Police and another accused in the case, too was postponed. The police officer has been arraigned as sixth accused in the case.
He was arrested on May 21 by the special team of the Crime Branch CID probing the attack on Unnithan. According to the police officer, there was no evidence against him to connect him with the case. He was arrested on the basis of the statements given by the accused Santhosh.
