Indu's Death- Subhash to undergo PolyGraph test

Monday, May 09, 2011: Mystery shrouded over the death of a 25-year-old woman Indu (research scholar at the National Institute of Technology) whose body was fished out from the Periyar river in Aluva on April 28th.

In connection with Indu’s death under mysterious circumstances, her co-passenger and colleague at NIT, Subhash, might undergo polygraph test. Subhash is being questioned by the police officials from the day Indu had gone missing. During the questioning, Subhash made several contradictory statements.

Investigation officials said that Subhash keeps repeating the same as if he had memorized it. The railway police, who probed the case earlier, thought of conducting a polygraph test. The new team had directed him not to leave Kozhikode. He might be questioned in the coming days.

The police also questioned the sand quarrying workers who had said that they saw something falling from the train. The police are also probing the earlier relationship Subhash had with Indu.

The body was found afloat at Kandamthuruth, Chengamanad, nearly eight km away from the Aluva railway bridge. Residents alerted the Railway police on Wednesday after some of them spotted a body.
